Summary

  • Select one of the cloud e-mail service solutions mentioned or propose your own (e.g. campaignmonitor, myemma, phplist, mailchimp,...)
  • Study the documentation and learn to work with it.
  • Design your e-mail marketing campaign for your e-commerce prototype 
  • Build an e-mail that gets opened and will work 
  • Send your campagn out to a couple of test mail addresses.
 

Some details on what you need to do:

 

Design your e-mail campaign (Cfr. chapter 6. e-mail campaigns)

  • Determining campaign objectives
  • Establishing a communication schedule (frequency, timing)

Build an e-mail that gets opened and will work (Cfr. chapter 7, Crafting an e-mail that gets opened and chapter 8,  E-mail marketing basic tips to remember)

Try to cover following topics mentioned in chapter 7 & 8:
 
  • Optimize the message envelope (From name, Subject Line)
  • Personalizing your message
  • Pre-header
  • Headline
  • Images
  • Call-To-Action (CTA)
  • Social Badges

Send your e-mail out to a list which just has a couple of test adresses
